79th Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute Conference
Marine scientists, fishers, policymakers and conservation groups from across the Caribbean come together in Curaçao for GCFI79, this year centered on Future-Proofing Fisheries: Resources, Resilience and Tradition. The program looks at everything from reef and pelagic fisheries to marine protected areas, community knowledge, technology, climate resilience and the future of fishing across the region.
Curaçao is more than just the host this year too — local fisheries, coral restoration and the realities of conservation on a small island are woven directly into the conference program.
