C'est La Vie Gourmet Shop
This restaurant is a favorite of the Otra Guide team and we don’t say that often. Owner and chef Juan quietly creates his culinary magic behind the counter, offering a nod and hello to each guest as the tables fill up. He cooks with precision and calm, often running the entire kitchen with just one or two helpers and somehow, we never seem to wait long.
His Portuguese heritage shows up in some techniques, while other dishes lean distinctly French or unexpectedly Italian. He just has that rare chef’s gift you need to experience. We love the eel salad, escargots, and pasta of the day especially when paired with a wine Juan selects himself. Even the most basic salad here is full of flavor. What more can we say?
