09. Aruba Street Art
San Nicolás has grown into one of the Caribbean’s most colorful open-air art districts. If you’d like a guided walk, several good options can be found in the Tours & Adventures → Street Art category on Otra Guide.
The Otra team is committed to crediting every artist. We currently list around 60 murals in the area that we’ve photographed. If you know the Instagram or Facebook handle for any of the muralists, please email us at Info@OtraGuide.com and we’ll add it to the listings so visitors can tag them in their posts.
If you’re researching the neighborhood, here’s a bit of context: once known primarily as a refinery town, San Nicolás began developing a new creative identity after the first Aruba Art Fair in 2016. Local and international artists were invited to paint large-scale works across the neighborhood, collaborating with residents and business owners to bring fresh energy into the streets. Since then, the art movement has continued to grow - from small tucked-away pieces in narrow alleys to multi-story murals visible from blocks away.
