Mama Brown’s Soup To Go
In the heart of San Nicolas, this neon-green storefront is impossible to miss and the bold exterior is a perfect preview of what’s inside. Mama Brown’s runs on a rotating menu of Dominican Caribbean home-style soups that includes pig tail, lentil, chicken, goat, jambó, oxtail, bullfoot, pumpkin, saoto ajam, fish, Dominican sancocho, and more. There are always five soup options, all cooked with love and intention. There are also proteins and sides for those not in a soup mood.
The Otra Guide team think it’s an essential stop when exploring the murals and art district both for the food and for the cultural feel of the neighborhood.
