Lionfish Caribbean’s annual derby sends teams of divers across the island to remove as many invasive lionfish as possible in one day, then brings everyone back together at Kurá Hulanda Village for the weigh-in, food, drinks and music. This is the 8th edition, and the competition is based on the highest catch per person, not simply the biggest team total.
You don’t have to dive to be part of it either. The village will also host an Ocean & Conservation Market, lionfish cleaning activities and games, so there’s something happening on land while the hunters are out.
