Landhuis Habaai
Landhuis Habaai, also known as Plantation Welgelegen, is one of Curaçao's oldest plantation houses, dating back to around 1752. Originally a diversified plantation, it has served various roles over the centuries, including a governor's residence, a boarding house, and an orphanage. Notably, it was renowned for straw hat production in the early 20th century. After years of abandonment, it has been revitalized and now stands as a historical monument, offering a glimpse into the island’s rich past and the diverse uses of this storied estate.
