Octagon Museum
Nestled on the grounds of Avila Beach Hotel, the Octagon Museum is a historic gem in Curaçao. The distinctive octagonal building, painted a bright yellow, holds significance as the former residence of Simón Bolívar, the famed Venezuelan liberator. Bolívar stayed here before his monumental efforts to end Spanish colonial rule in South America. Today, the museum honors this connection, offering exhibits celebrating Bolívar and Curaçao's shared history. Open for visitors on select days, the museum’s scenic setting also makes it a picturesque venue for weddings, concerts, and cultural events.
