Curacao Info
21. Driving Basics
The best way to explore the island’s hidden beaches and local gems is by car. Curaçao drives on the right-hand side, and while the roads are mostly paved, they can be a bit bumpy, but they’re manageable. Some of the more remote beaches have dirt roads—just go slowly.
Speed limits are rarely posted, but they are 40 km- 25 Mph in built up areas. Outside of town 60 km - 37 Mph.
Having your own wheels gives you the freedom to discover off-the-beaten-path spots, sample local cuisine, and enjoy spontaneous adventures.
HINT: Check to make sure your vehicle has a spare tire.
